Chief Nursing Officer / CNO (Rehab Hospital)

Our client, a rehab hospital located in northern WV, close to the PA border, is looking for a CNO to join their team. This is for a 90-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital (no emergency dept., operating rooms, clinics, or ambulatory services). Not a nursing home, assisted living or long-term care, average length of stay of patients is 7-14 days. Candidates MUST have at least 5 years’ experience in inpatient rehabilitation hospital OR hospital acute care as a nursing leader managing larger teams. Candidates MUST have Manager or Director experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing with an Advanced Degree such as MSN, other master’s degrees acceptable. OR be currently enrolled in a master’s program and can show proof of present enrollment.
• CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation RN) certification to be obtained within first year in position which we will assist with.
• At least 5 years’ experience in inpatient rehabilitation hospital OR hospital acute care as a nursing leader managing larger teams. Leadership experience in nursing to include responsibilities such as 24-hour accountability, patient satisfaction initiatives, FTE management, policy, procedure, and budgetary oversight, and conducting disciplinary action.
• Reporting to this position are 2 fulltime nurse manager, 8 fulltime nurse supervisors, staff scheduler, infection control nurse, hospital educator, wound care coordinator, respiratory supervisor, dialysis program manager, dieticians and approximately 120 nursing staff (RN, LPN, Rehab Nursing Tech, Unit Secretary).
• Experience with patient satisfaction surveys and leading recruiting, retention, and employee engagement activities.
• Reports directly to the CEO at the hospital and supported by the Regional CNO.
