Location description: We have it all here in this high mountain valley because, well, because this is Colorado. Snow sports are legion and easily accessible. You could be in the back country in far less time than it would take you to find a parking spot and have dinner in the city. We are a community of active people who love the snow and the winter activities that are associated with the season – skiing, boarding, snow shoeing, cross country skiing. When spring comes, we store our skis and snowmobiles and bring out summer gear for kayaking, cycling, hiking, camping, fishing, rafting, climbing. It is all here. And we love to have a soak in nearby hot springs following our outdoor adventures or simply relax with friends to recap the day.
If less strenuous activities appeal to you, our local college offers a wide variety of courses and then there are our local festivals celebrating our Spanish heritage and the history of our unique Colorado landscape. Our population is diverse and changing. Based on agriculture, ranching and education, we live a Western lifestyle that is open, friendly and engaging. As an employee and contributor to the health of the community you will be welcome and welcomed.
